KC HiLiTES source a lot of feedback from KC HiLiTES customers and ambassadors. About 10 years ago a KC ambassador and close friend of the company, Gerald “Smitty” King of Finish Line Racing, asked us to develop a multi-functional off-road accessory LED light. Gerald does wiring for many race vehicles in the Phoenix area, he’s a fabricator and an off-road racer. “We need a light that looks like a donut and can be mounted to vehicles using a DZUS fastener”, he requested. DZUS fasteners are used to hold body panels onto race vehicles. He explained that there was a need to have lights around the vehicles that mount quickly and easily with a DZUS fastener to make life easier to mount lights for visibility. Armed with that knowledge, KC went to work and designed the KC Cyclone while continuously sourcing feedback from Gerald throughout the initial design process. Today, the cyclone has grown to be a staple for all types of vehicles to be seen and to see with.
