The Portable Winch works on a capstan principle with no limit on the length of the rope used. It is great for pulling heavy objects, such as pulling heavy logs, bringing down hung-up trees, retrieving game, getting vehicles stuck out of the mud, and more. Tie the rope to the object needing to be pulled and wind the rope 3-4 times around the drum. The drum rotates continuously while the engine is running and the friction created by pulling on the free end of the rope will pull the object.
